Just got my new Phillips 6000R from American Satellite. I put it in the bedroom to replace my old receiver, but I can't believe how loud it is even when it's in standby mode. I checked my Sony Sat T60 in the theatre and it stays on also, but is much quieter.

What do you do with a tivo in the bedroom when you want to seep? Also, there's no on\off on the Phillips, just a standby mode in the directv menu.-- What a pain. Do you pull the plug? How about an X-10 appliance module to cu the power? Then I guess I'd have to wait for it to power up and recycle- - There must be a better way--

Any Ideas??
