The problem is not the receivers it's the remote, the remote that comes standard with a 2700 rec. is non-addressable, the universal that comes with the 4700 is! you need to unplug one of the receivers, then using the programable remote set the address to which ever # you like. then you plug in that rec. and unplug the one you just programmed, then using the same remote you programm the 2nd rec. for a second set of codes (another #)
Now comes the kicker, you either teach your fancy learning remote to control the receiver that goes with the main system or you buy a second Dish Net remote that can be addressed. (about $45)
Plug in both units and throw away the remote that came with the 2700. (or at least take out the batteries) if you don't the next time you pick it up and start to use it it will de-program both units and you get to start all over again.
