I have the same receiver setup. I have them both in one room. The 2700 is for upstairs, and is controlled by an RF OFA 9800 remote. I tried changing the 4700 to a different address, but when it hit the 2700 it still changed channels. I ended up changing it back and covering the front of the 2700. I think like you said it is for changing the RF address, if you had two 4700's, I think that is the advantage. I have to try again, couldn't remember the details but I remember being dissapointed it didn't work as I hoped.
