This may be a dumb question...

I have one run of RG6 going from my closet to my sat. box. I'd like to take the output of the sat. box and run it through a modulator back up to my closet for whole house distribution. I've left out many details of my house setup but those that I mentioned are the only important ones. My question is... can I use a pair of diplexers to separate these two signals even though they are going in different directions? I'm aware that this works perfectly for two signals going in the same direction.. just couldn't decide if the actual direction would make a difference. Any help??
