Too bad I didn't check here on the weekend as I could've saved you a bit of time. :) The skew is very important and generally I preset this before aiming. Then fine-tune after I get signal. Yes, these dishes are very directional and you need to be patient. The Viewsat box will actualy give you the satellite's name as you are aiming, so you know when you've found the right one.
