Someone asked if you can get a multiregion mod for the 995. I don't think you can (probably because I don't think they can be made to play PAL discs) but you can get the more expensive DVP-CX777ES in multiregion form here: http://www.220-electronics.com/ or here: http://www.jvbdigital.com. JVB also do after-market mods. Also, these machines don't seem to be marketed outside the US/Canada, so I doubt you can buy one designed for other regions.

I just bought a multiregion 777, with the aim of using it with an Escient DVDM-100 disc manager product. I did a lot of research on these systems (and server products) before buying. The disc explorer built into the 995/777 is widely regarded as a complete nightmare and it has a reputation for losing keyed-in data. The 777 has 2 way RS232 control so discs can be catalogued and controlled automatically by a computer or a dedicated manager like the Escient. The 777 doesn't have an HDMI output though.
