I have a 7000 and am in Australia (but in Melbourne). I have previously had the 1000. I find the 7000 much better than the 1000 to hold and use. The screen is absolutely stunning and extremely easy to read.

The only slight negative is the volume & channel up/down buttons - it can be hard to locate the right one in the dark.
