I have two of them outdoors in a box and downstream from a GFI.
Both have failed but it has nothing to due with them being outside. In fact I have had about 7 of them fail and am tired of replacing them and am replacing them with appliance modules.
Usually in 6 to 12 months SR-227's will fail or that has been my experience anyway.
They have a plastic rod attached to the relay that breaks -- you will hear a racheting noise just before or after they break -- it sounds like the normal CLICK that they make but you will hear it three times instead of once.
This is a well known problem and a great example of X10.COM's value engineering.
There is no known fix except for replacement as far as I know.
Cheers, Jim.
