That copy you own is probably unedited. And it's sounding like the new release will be edited in some form or another. I particularly dislike editing of any form. So if you are pleased with the VHS copy you own stick with it.
I own the movie on laserdisc and have no intentions of buying the DVD when it comes out, edited or not.
