The answer is "yes". I have a friend who wanted to do the same thing for a different use. He opened the module and swapped one wire from each of the two solenoid coils.

If I'm not mistaken, one wire from each coil is connected to the same point on the PCB, and the other wire from each coil is the one you need to swap with the other.


Edit: I just got off the phone with my friend. It was a Universal Module he modified, not an Appliance Module; apparently, the AM uses a single-coil relay, whereas the UM uses a pair of coils.

A UM's terminals are rated at only 32 volts, but this is to satisfy UL requirements, because the terminal screws have exposed heads. If insulated, or otherwise contained, the contacts can safely switch 120 volts.

Upidedown (where's the 's'?) could use a plug and socket, and coat the screwheads with some 'liguid electrical tape' to use with his humidifier, and the UM would respond as he wishes: off for on, and vice-versa.
