If you need more control, I'd say go with the Ocelot-HomeSeer combo. (Ocelot for IR inputs, WATCHDOG, blind control, etc. and an TM751 Transceiver for x10) But then that's what I use.

You can use 2 IR543's but only if they are located in different rooms and will NEVER see each others inputs. Otherwise things can get ugly.
