Rovert: Most "Matrix" problems are on players with older firmware. Warner used a newish format that wasn't 100% compatible with certain players. My oldish Sony S500D had no problems with it.

You'll find that almost all DVD players have a quirk or two. Just get *new* model from a reputable brand.
