VE, along with a DVD called AVIA:guide to home theater are set-up discs which take you step by step setting up and calibrating your audio and video setup. From balancing speakers levels in all channels to proper calibration ( short of having an actual technician with calibration tools) of your display device. Along with suggestion on speaker placement and lighting suggestions they explain all the appropriate techno babble.

As to where, pick your favorite online DVD retailer. Kencranes.com or Reel.com. will have either.

Is it worth it? Yes. And if your equipment is expensive enough to justify getting in an ISF tech ( approx $300 ) do it. I just had one in, my RP was having some major drift problems, and it was worth every penny. I have a 2 year old 41" Sony and am not ready to buy a new HDTV so $275 was a steal by comparison.

ISF being the Imaging Science Foundation, the folks behind the Video Essentials DVD. Which you can order at their site at ISF.com
