hi.....Denon makes a low cost unit, either the a/v
97 or 88 i believe, or the new higher end Teac, i believe its # AGD9320...and thats built by H/K at their same hi-end plant i believe......pioneer also makes some newer models that are really in-expensive now,,,,fact is, most if not ALL of the dolby digital 5.1 receiver units have dropped significantly in price over their prior units.........and i have a/b'd the ultra units from sony,denon,adcom,yamaha,etc,etc,etc....and YOU would be hard pressed to hear the subtle differences between the ultra hi-end and the regular hi-end of the leading jap companies....now , when u are talking separates, as in separate 5 channel amps, + a separate a/v pre-amp or processor, thats a whole different ball game............anyway, good luck billy c
