To decode Dolby Digital and DTS you need a digital audio cable between your DVD player and your receiver. Digital cables come in two varieties: optical and coax (with RCA connectors). Your existing analog RCA cables will carry the Dolby ProLogic signal, so you still need to keep them hooked up. All of this of course assumes that your DVD player and receiver can decode Dolby Digital and DTS...
