I'm new to home theatre. Is having a widescreen TV a must? I don't have a DVD player yet and only have an older 20" TV. Should I buy a 27" cheapy to do me for now or are there enough widescreen TV's out there at reasonable prices? And what sizes do they come in? What is the minimum size to buy to do me for a good while?

Any tips on what I look for in a widescreen TV? Resolution, etc. I'm on a budget. Thanks in advance for your comments.
