I have the 898, chosen over the 2 Denon's in question. So I guess I like that better. Ease of operation (Aktis??!!) and price vs the 4802 were my final factors. Also the front panel input, a must at my house.
IMO, the 3802 was a poor choice for Denon. They simply upgraded the 3801 with new software, little more. I think a slightly different amp section. The major gap between it and the 4802 didn't have to be so big. The 4802 was a huge improvement over the 4800.
But I just want to clarify: the 3802 has 4 digital inputs (not 3), one output. The 4802 has 8 inputs, 2 outputs. The 4802 really has enough inputs to make anybody happy, if only it had one on the front.
