I just bought, and am extremely happy with, a Denon DVD-2900 universal DVD Audio-Video/SACD player. I've connected it via 6 analogue phonos to my Yamaha DSP-A1 and, upon selecting the Aux Input channel on the amp, I "think" I'm getting excellent multi-channel SACD playback.
However, I read in some SACD blurb that amps with DSP processing (like the Yamaha DSP-A1) can sometimes transfer the analogue signal to digital, then back to analogue for output through the speakers. This has the effect of reducing the output to that of a regular CD.
Is this true with the Yamaha DSP-A1? If so, is there any way I can bypass the DSP process completely and hear pure analogue output?
Thanks very much,
