Hi,
Can't go wrong with Harman/Kardon. Very smooth, warm, and detailed. I have the excellent multi award winning AVR8500, but unfortunately it's no longer being made. (you might still find some around). The new AVR7300 is also getting rave reviews, but I guess it all comes down to budget and power you desire. The Acram series is also good, with similar warm sound to the Harman/Kardon range.
