I had my vr-507 in the shop for the problem with the IR signal from the remote not being recognized by the receiver after a few minutes or after a few hours.They had it for a while and could not duplicate the problem. When I got it home it was still failing to recognize the remote signal after variable amounts of time.I told this to the electronics shop and they called Kenwood and found out they are aware of this problem. Evidently, in this receiver, two of the three wires on the IR circuit were not soldered during assembly. After the soldering was done the receiver now works flawlessly. Hope this helps, as well!
