I currently have the VR-507 and I cannot get the unit to respond to remote commands consistently as well. I have read the manual again and again and the only thing that I came up with was to reset the processor in the unit. Of course, this had no effect. I looked at the Kenwood website for any information but have not found anything. If anyone has updated information, I would be very interested in hearing it.
