Okay - I'm not a newbie to learning remotes, nor am I a maven, but it appears that everyone else on this darn forum thinks everyone should be in order to use their remote therefore I could never find a direct answer. Not me. I finally figured out the discrete power codes for my DISH Network receivers by following a procedure I found on a different site which I will explain shortly.

First, I will say that a lot of different DISH receivers all share the same codes, but they can be customized to use different ID codes. This is used so multiple receivers can be in the same room and each receiver can have a separate remote. MOST of these boxes are pre-programmed to use ID code set 1 which I will post in it's entirety below. To use them, just paste this into the IR code box using ProntoEdit.

Now, if you know your receiver is set to a different code set AND you have a working infrared remote that will control the receiver, follow these steps to get the discrete power codes out of your existing remote. Use this in conjunction with the learn function on your Pronto or other learning remote:

1. Press and hold SAT mode button until all mode lights are on.
2. Press POWER button.
3. Press Volume Up to transmit discrete on code.
4. Press Volume Down to transmit discrete off code.

If your not sure what remote ID your receiver/remote is set to, you can follow the directions in the manual that came with the receiver to synchronise the receiver with your infrared remote so they will work together - then you can program the remote from the original. I will also note that the silver-ish colored remotes are usually UHF and will not work with a Pronto since it uses Infrared technology. The 811 and some other models come only with the UHF remote - just snag a remote from a different room and program the 811 to listen to it per the manual - the 811 will receive EITHER UHF or Infrared.
