Hello to all and thanks for any help you can give
me. I have a 15.1994 and the light stays on all
the time now!!!! Battery life is about 1 1/2 days!!!
Backlighting is nice but i could do without that!
Anyway i have taken remote apart and button looks
ok only thing i can think of is a short somewhere.
Screws holding bottom half of the pcb are glued
so i have not looked in that area yet. Anyone
know if there is a way to get that glue off so
i can get to the screws? If not i really do not
need backlight any suggestions on how to cut the
lights out completely? Thanks!!

The screws on the pcb aren't really glued, the coating can be easily scratched off and will release easily when you turn the screws. Once you remove the pcb, you will have access to the thin film "light" which can be removed and replaced without damaging anything. I don't know if removing it will solve the battery drain, but it will cut the lights out completely.
