Got one of these babies earlier today for $29. First impressions = very nice. So far I like it better than the Marantz Mk II I sent back (I MUST have a physical up/down/left/right cursor key layout for my DVD player!)

4 QUESTIONS:

1.) I would like to make the VOLUME button ALWAYS control my RECEIVER (coded on AUX1). I tried the 'punch thru' function w/ no success. Help!

1.a.) For bonus points (or a refinement of 1.) above - get the VOL to ALWAYS control the AMP, EXCEPT when device is TV - switch to TV VOLUME then.

2.) How do I figure out the code to use for my SONY VPL-W400 LCD video front projection unit? (I tried codes 0000, 0011, 0111, 0080, 0273 with no success - they all control my XBR crt TV though)

3. I see references to a SHIFT button (in the old RS 1918 Remote manual that Andre posted a link to.) What is the equivalent key on the 1994?

4.) My backlight seems to be white/blueish (as opposed to the red backlighting in the catalog). Interesting - everyone else the same?
