I can't seem to teach this remote to turn on/off
an old Sony TV we recently inherited. Any ideas?
The tv came with a remote that may not have belonged
to it, but does work, labeled Sony TV Trinetron
RM-757. When I try to beam it at the Onkyo remote,
the Onkyo doesn't receive any info. I've had no
trouble programming many other devices into the
Onkyo, and other universals can easily handle
this tv. What is the problem? I can't seem to
use typical universals because the Onkyo has separate
on and off buttons. I recently tried the OFA 6131,
but couldn't get past the Onkyo on/off issue.

I'm having the same problem with programing a new Philips DVD Player (DVP642/37) remote into my Onkyo RC-392M learning remote. I tried calling both Onkyo and Philips customer service, but they were no help. The Philips remote was able to be programmed into a friend's Sony RM-AV3000 without any problems. Is there any way I can manually program in the IR codes? Or is my remote just unable to learn it? Thanks in advance!
