I have this remote, and the manual. But please be advised that it is a very simple task to let the remote do the "auto search". First: Manually turn on the device you want to auto search (TV, VCR, cable box, DVD, etc, etc). Second: Press the corresponding device key for which you are searching - (remote will flash once). Third: Press "Prog" once (remote will flash twice). Make sure remote is aimed at device. The remote will search through the library for the target device code in 3-second intervals (indicated by a single flash each time). When the device turns off, immediately press the "Prog" key to lock in the code.
