The Terminal-based approach I mention in the FAQ is usually sure-fire and works on the first or second try (usually second because people don't realize exactly what's happening on the first attempt).

Trying to use the firmware upgrade program to fix this, which can also work, requires luck more than still. Now, in the Terminal approach you don't want to be spending much time between initiating the download process and finding your CCF to download, but I've never had it time out (and if it does you can probably just "dl ccf" again or just start over).

I believe that Tonto has incorporated an automated version of the FAQ instructions.
