Assuming that your remote has a code for the Proview, follow these steps:

1) Look up the code in the manual and write it down
2) Check the manual to see what the procedure is to program a setup code into the remote (it's different for every brand of universal)
3) Follow the procedures outlined in step 2 and enter the code found in step 1.

Of course, if your remote doesn't have a code for the Proview, you're SOL without JP1.

There's no such thing as a universal remote that will control RF devices.
