Larry,

I have a gas log fireplace with a Maxitrol control valve with a standing pilot. The control valve operates with the remote by applying +/- 6vdc to a servo attached to the valve control. My remote is a SKYTECH that operates the Maxitrol Valve. It may be just like yours. My Skytech is an RF Remote that operates on 303.80 Mhz. No iR here. I too have a new MX 500 and would like to find a good way to use the MX500 with the fireplace.

I'll keep checking this thread and post If I find a way to make it work. I would need a dry contact control that would be momentary contact as long as the remote was sending. That would allow positive 6 volts to bring the fire up and negative 6 volts to bring the fire down. Can be an iR or X10 device.

Any ideas anyone?
