Thanks! Yes, both the noise and spelling error have been noted. In regards to the noise, every single LCD that has that particular kind of "smooth" backlight makes that noise. It seems to vary in level according to brightness, and since the AV2000 is so bright it's quite loud. I believe it has to do with the circuitry that boosts voltage levels.

My palmtop does this (very dim light, so it's not loud) and so does the Pronto for that matter (once again dimmer than the AV2000's dim mode, so not as loud). Once you realize that this is normal, and everything does it, it's quite easy to live with.
