People are being charged $200 to have discrete
added to their TV's by Samsung. And then the codes
are only available to pronto owners, see this
thread;
[Link: remotecentral.com]Yeah. I heard that about the Samsungs. :( This started back in July and from what I have been reading, some of the TVs produced after they offered the upgrade program might have the firmware to handle discrete codes. I purchased my TV on September 10th so I'm crossing my fingers for a firmware of 214 or higher.
I didn't hear anything about it being Pronto only however. These are the codes I came across on the AVS forums.
Antenna 251
Video 1 177
Video 2 013
Video 3 017
S-Video 1 192
S-Video 2 019
S-Video 3 175
Component 1 171
Component 2 016
Component 3 179
DVI 018
PC 073
Again, hopefully my TV is ok to go with discrete codes and that I can avoid paying $200.00.
Oh, and Ron...I did a test run of trying out discrete codes with my current TV and I now understand how it works. I now have discrete buttons for Treble Up and Down!!! Go me! :)
