Hi, I am facing the same problem -displays "DVD 3" on my RDR-VX525 while trying with sony remote RM-Y165. Please post/email how you could change the codeset so it is useful for all. Thanks

in the front panel, its telling you want codeset the recorder
is actually set to, and DVD 3 is the factory default codeset
for dvdr's.
You might want to switch the recorder to DVD 1 anyways,
so more remotes will have a code that works it.
