No-one ever reads the manual until they've fried the unit doing the thing it tells them very clearly in the manual not to do :-) My partner says the only cure is estrogen :-)

There's a (politically incorrect) acronym in the retail industry, 'ESTO returns'. ESTO stands for 'equipment superior to operator'. A somewhat cynical view, but next time you see 'no fault found', pity the poor R&D engineer who has to design something to be 'obvious' to millions of people across scores of cultures, each of which thinks differently :-)
