I have a Kenwood 9010 DVD player that I want to switch into standby mode, rather than having to manually depress a power button to turn it off. The manual says the player is capable of doing this *if* you do it with the fancy Kenwood LCD learning remote - there is no facility with the remote that came with it (why??!!) I could buy the Kenwood LCD remote separately I guess, but I don't want to!. I was thinking about getting a Pronto in to solve my RC nightmare, it would be neat if some way I could get it to power down my DVD without having to get up and press a switch.
