Full disclosure: I’m not a TIVO user.
This seems like a network issue. The suggestion of removing a unit’s network connection briefly seems out of order and redundant. This would force network clients to renegotiate, but a reboot would accomplish this too. Anyway, has something changed in the network? An update? Describe the network.
