This thread is quite the collection of pseudo-fact:

mRNA vaccines are experimental untested technology:
Nope. mRNA vaccines have been under development for about 15 years and have had successful trials and results in multiple applications prior to COVID.

COVID-19 vaccines aren't fully approved:
Nope. Emergency use authorization is approval. Pfizer's COVID-19 vaccine is also fully approved and no longer operating under emergency use authorization. Expect that approval for Moderna in weeks (if not days). Further, with hundreds of millions of doses now administered, there is clear data (well beyond any normal trials program) on the efficacy and safety of mRNA COVID-19 vaccines.

The vaccine doesn't actually prevent you from catching COVID
True, the vaccines have variable effectiveness in reducing transmissibility of SARS-CoV2 and its variants. But, although they do reduce transmissibility, that was never their intent. The intent of the vaccines is to prevent one from becoming seriously ill, requiring hospitalization, or dying from COVID-19. They are tremendously effective at this. Even breakthrough cases of Delta are resulting in a very low relative number of cases of serious illness.

COVID-19 can only kill you if you're obese or have other comorbities:
Yes, you are at more risk with certain underlying health conditions, but COVID-19 can kill anyone and has. More than 17% of COVID deaths are those with no comorbity. Since >600,000 Americans have died of COVID-19, that means that over 100,000 deaths are otherwise perfectly healthy people who probably thought they were at no risk of dying from COVID.

My individual rights are being violated by public health orders:
Hooey, hogwash, and just general BS. If you want to go into public, the public has the right to expect you to act safely. You do not have the right to drive at twice the speed limit. You do not have the right to walk around spraying pepper spray at everyone you meet. You do not have the right to throw stones at people as your walking down the street. You simply do not have the individual right to be a public menace. If you do not want to abide by public health orders, then stay home. The only two reasonable exceptions to this are those with a bona fide medical contraindicaiton to immunization (very few) or those who have a legitimate religious objection (Christian Scientists mostly). Otherwise, get vaccinated and wear a mask (where required) or stay the hell at home.
