Annually about 1.3 million people die in car accidents. That's a lot of people yet we haven't banned vehicles.
Not entirely a fair comparison. Automotive deaths are the reason we now have Federally mandated Seat belts, Airbags, Backup cameras, soft surface interiors, Side impact bars etc, all designed to reduce traffic related deaths.
