We had same issue, audio would drop with arc, reset system power and good for a couple weeks, then one day just wouldn’t work again. Then used the optical to hdmi adaptor worked great for 2 weeks then again nothing. We ended up with analog out of tv to amp and all working now.
There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.
