As for using Bitcoin as currency I have no desire as the tax code is prohibitive.
I believe International trade will drift away from USD and towards BTC. Why would a country want to sell their natural resources for USD that is simply printed out of thin air? On top of that the US is ~30 Trillion in debt. Every dollar in existence is simply a debt note backed by the "Full Faith and Credit" of the United States.
In other words worthless, which is why people trade it for real estate and other hard assets as fast as they can which in turn has created massive asset bubbles.
If USD had value they wouldn't loan it out for next to nothing.
