I was reading faster than I was perceiving, which just turns my response into something a bit hilarious. Oopsie.
I rented from my friend at the time when he was selling and installing satellite equipment and he brought the partner's 12' dish to the house....
Remember Amplica satellite systems? The A/V chain I was working for around 1990 got sold on them and we sold perhaps fifty units.
They seemed to be great until they weren't. They eventually were so bad that every receiver had to be exchanged for a new one.
Then there was the day the owner of a bar dropped by our place with a piece of cardboard from the dish carton. The installers had dropped the dish carton (about four feet by six feet by 1 1/2 feet of solid cardboard) in their trash can. This is how the installers got rid of their trash!
That relationship was over none too soon.
Over the years I hit water twice. It was irritating but not tragic.
