Hi RC (LM), Great detailed reply, though not helping....me....here's why; When I mentioned that other 3rd party apps running on APTV4 required a "swipe-down" to enter the "closed caption" (cc) selection screen - that's what I was focusing on. While watching APTV movies, you are very correct - a double-hit of "Up" or in some cases "Down" command does get the user into the cc screen. Though for some 3rd party apps, the "swipe-down" command is the ONLY method to enter cc selection window.
As you know, the APTV Siri remote is communicating w/ APTV via Bluetooth. Though you may not know, that the Siri remote pairing w/ APTV4 is only good for about 1 minute of use, and the remote battery's die-out after about 10 button pushes. Also that Siri remote can only communicate w/ APTV within about a 10' operating range. THUS - using the Siri remote for anything is the big issue. Not having any method to tell the APTV to "swipe-down" other than using the Siri remote is my problem and my clients BIG problem. In the past - I'd just find an IR code or convert an RF code to compatible IR Hex. But Apple screwed-the-pooch on this one...sort of speak.
Any other suggestions for telling APTV to "swipe-down" via IR code?
