SPYCLOPS TECH BULLETIN
December 10th, 2020
Starting the afternoon of December 9th we have noticed an increase in calls from customers with DVR’s & NVR’s that are now displaying offline for remote access but are correctly connected to the network.
These DVR’s & NVR’s have not had the last firmware update released last year completed yet and once the updates are applied, the issue is resolved.
The latest firmware updates that solved the issue when stuck at splash screen were related to a change in networking from ISP’s and it appears this is the same issue but now being rolled out in additional markets that were not previously affected.
Not all models in all markets are showing offline at this time but it is a good practice to proactively update the firmware to the latest available. Links to download the Firmware for models potentially affected can be found below. Installers that need to service multiple models can place all of the firmware rom files on the root of a single USB flash drive and can follow the instructions included with the downloads from there.
Please note that equipment already updated with firmware updates in 2019 will not need to be updated again.
