I have a FritzBox 7590 and can confirm that it doesn't work with the Pronto since firmware version 7.x.
Tried everything and even involved AVM's (=vendor) tech support but they were unable to fix it - seems to be a driver issue.
It used to work with the old 6.x firmware.
I'm currently running a Linksys WRT1900ACS (v2) as a secondary access point on DD-WRT (release 44048 seems to be the most stable for me at this moment) and it's running fine with my TSU9800 using WPA2.
