You did not mention if Panel text also displayed and if this problem was limited to Simulator only or both Simulator and Editor. So I will assume Panel and Editor.

Open a command prompt to c:\Windows\fonts and do a directory looking for ProntoMaestro.ttf (dir Pronto*.*).

If not there, try a reinstall with an Admin account.

If it is there, confirm is Windows is setup to use Large Icons and Larger text on buttons for accessibility.
