It’s been 3 years since I was in the industry and I know how things can change.
When I left, I was selling and installing Epson HT. There were still stuck in 1080p and had been dipping their toes in Laser light sources and E-Shift for a 4K solution. Still decent product and their white glove service was a nice feature. I also liked the generous amounts of horiz and vert lens shift they offered as well as a big zoom ratio
Sony was selling 4K HT projectors but their entry level products lacked the above features.
Where are we at now? 3 years later is anyone selling 4K, laser light source and flexible lens shift/zoom options? I know one of the impediments to more cost effective 4K is the larger chipset and resulting larger optics. But has that come closer to being solved?
By the way, I prefer 3 chip Lcos or LCD, not dlp. Not crazy about color wheels/dlp unless it’s a 3 chip dlp.
I’ve got a job to do. My neighbor is breaking ground on a home and I will be installing all his technology solutions next year. including a dedicated HT
