I can do many things, but drywall is not on that list. Subs will giggle and roll their eyes after watching me struggle.

Quick set mud is handy for small patch jobs once you get used to working in small batches. Note that quick set is much harder to sand. It's best to take extra care while applying. Don't let tools sit around with uncured mud on them because once it cures, it is (literally) hard to deal with.

I've watched contractors apply mud over tape almost as fast as they can walk and almost no sanding is needed. This is not my skill.
