If it means reduced airflow, may or may not be advisable. The fan is making noise because it is moving air rapidly over very hot electronic spots. Creating the capacity to power multiple devices means a power supply that generates some heat.

I think it's more that Unifi is cheap and didn't want to spend extra $$ per unit on a quality part. I've got these in my Pro4 and it runs quieter and cooler
