I realize this is an old thread, but I think my question belongs here.
I'm trying to program my MX700 with a new USB to Serial adapter I picked up on eBay, but am getting an error code: 102-17UU-0000.
"Either the comm port setting is incorrect (Communications Menu) or the cable is defective."
I'm using WIN 7 and if I plug the cable directly into the comm port it works fine.
The new adapter shows up as "USB-SERIAL CH340 (COM1)".
Earlier in this thread I read to use "Belkin F5U109 or the Keyspan high-speed model". Only found this after my new adapter didn't work.
If no one can offer a solution for my current adapter, can anyone confirm that either of the above mentioned adapters still work.
Thanx!
