I thought I usually see that if the Pronto is not connected, it was some HID error. One time I had to close PEP3 and restart my PC. I have it on my MacBook air running on Bootcamp as well.

Every other time I just unplugged and plugged my pronto back in to resolve, sorry if this does not help
