Hi,

I have a client whose wife is a personal trainer. Normally she visits people in their homes to train them, but obviously with the advent of Covid19 this is now not possible.

She has tried setting up one to one VC sessions (Zoom based I think), initiated from her iPad tablet so that she can train clients remotely by getting them to follow her exercise routine live from her own gym room. The issue she is having apparently is that it is difficult to get the tablet camera to show the views she wants. I presume that part of the issue is she cant locate the tablet far enough away to get the picture and still hear her/their voice.

The client has asked if it is possible for a cost effective solution can be found whereby an external camera, possibly tripod mounted, could be used so that she can let clients see how she performs the whole exercise yet would tie in with the tablet App.

To me this seems more like a job for a professional VC hardware system, but they do not want to spend that sort of money. Once the Corona thing goes away she will return to home visits so they do not see it as a viable business investment.

I have suggested just filming routines with a GoPro, and sharing the video during a Zoom/or similar session, but she wants to have a two-way interactive session as it is more personal to the client, which I can understand.

I don't know of any obvious solutions to this other than installing a pro VC system, and my Googling has not turned up anything that appears to fit the bill.

I thought therefore I would ask if anyone in the RC collective have any ideas as to how or if this can be done?

Look into Facebook Live- I know someone who is a working musician and he did a show from his living room last Friday. In his case, it's paid admission but if your client charges for each session, it would work the same way- he had his Venmo and PayPal account info in the background.

Lots of education is done over Skype, too- some feeds are a bit more prone to buffering, but this one should work for her if she needs it to be interactive.
My mechanic told me, "I couldn't repair your brakes, so I made your horn louder."
